Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Kade celebrated his first turkey holiday with his best friend Isaac! Isaac spent much of the day in a turkey coma and Kade spent much of the day being a turkey-ha!

We were invited to spend the day with the Mosbrucker's (Devin & Amanda). Here are Kade and the beautiful Isaac (Zac) enjoying the day together. (I have a feeling they will get into a bit more mischief as the years go on!)

Here are a couple more pics of Kade and daddy and Devin with the YUMMY turkey!Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!!!

My Lil' Helper!

Well we have an official little helper! Kade now likes to "do the laundry" (removing blankets and washclothes from the drawers), "help with dishes" (he loves to try and climb in the dishwasher), and other household tasks. One of his favorites is taking that pesky toilet paper off the roll while he waits for his bath water--uggh!

He has figured out how to get into every drawer and cupboard and remove whatever items lurk in them. BUT it is hilarious because...he PUTS back the stuff. Totally Chad's baby that's for sure! Chad has now baby proofed most of the cupboards and we have left some open so he can "help". Here is some footage of Kade giving mommy reorganization advise...

Maaaa! This drawer is in horrible shape, I need to reorganize this mess!
This oven mitt totally needs to be here on the floor,
way more accessible in case of an emergencyGeez, now this blue one here needs to have some space, much better!
Let me see if I can close it back up Now look at the improvement!
I would like $1 for my allowance please :-)

Video Montage

Holy cow, I did something techie! Look at the bottom of this page for my newest montage of my pumpkin! Kade Melvin from start until now...what an exciting life thus far. His Grandpa Mel would be sooo proud as we all are of him.

I don't have time right now to blog as Chad is on laundry patrol and I've been on here WAY too long figuring out this video thing. Thanks to Tabitha for the idea (copied it from her blog).

Well enjoy!!

Followers are COOL

I added a new feature on the right side of the page...Followers.
Not sure how it works, but you must just have to click on it and show Kade that you are following his exciting journey.
Thanks for reading, I have a lot of fun tracking his first year!

I'm seeing SPOTS!

My poor little guy is sick again! This one is a bit scary as he has had a temperature for a couple of days along with crying (Ok screaming fits) for the last 4 days. He won't eat and will almost jump out of his high chair if you offer him a spoon ful of ANYthing. I swore I was rocking the exorcist the other night as he screamed and flailed with green snot whipping everywhere. Just as I was about to send him off in the mailbox, he suddenly fell asleep in my arms.

Today, I noticed some red spots on his head when I dropped him off at daycare, I thought maybe it was just a heat rash (really I don't even know what that is) but he had a hat and a hood on and I thought he must have got too warm. Well a couple hours later I got a call that this mystery rash moved throughout his whole body.

I then called Chad and he picked Kade up and took him to the Dr. She didn't know what was wrong but wasn't concerned as his ears and breathing were ok. She prescribed some antibiotic since it has gotten worse not better over the last 4 days. I think it is teething as it seems he has 4 top teeth coming in at once! Plus the little bugger likes to GRIND them and the noise is mind numbing and makes my hair stand on end while my toe nails curl back and grow an inch...its an awful noise---uuuggh!

We are tying to soothe him and have teething tablets, baby orajel, frozen washclothes, frozen pacifiers, colic water, and baby tylenol (not all used at the same time-ha!) Mom and dad are on patrol as the officers in Iraq, we have plans and missions and coping tactics!

Grandma Nancy suggested a good 'ole popsicle which he calmed down for a few licks for...
As all you mommies with grown children, lay your heads down for an "uninterrupted" night of sleep, say an extra prayer for my little guy and know you are done getting up with screaming babies in the middle of the night---CALGON take me AWAY!!

More toys??

You can tell Kade is an only child as he is spoiled rotten! The sad part is that he has outgrown most of his "accessories" already and it looks like Toys R Us under my stairs!
He has grown out of:
2 swings, with all the bells and whistles
A boppy chair that will stick to his butt if he attempts to sit in it
A Johnny jumper, again will have to surgically remove from his behind
A baby bath tub equipped with the infant sling
His swaddling blankets
A bouncer with all the sparkly lights
A beautiful bassinet
Who knows what the heck else in addition to all his brand new clothes he wore maybe 3 times (mommy loves to baby shop!!)
It's funny how one minute these purchases are SOOO important and every detail counts and then before you know it, you didn't even remember having it!

So our newest addition to toy land is his "walker". Little did I know he would take to it like a pro and now runs around the house and into my walls and furniture. I outta give that kid a ticket!

I got places to go and people to see, Later Ma!

EEEEEEErrrrchhhh!, Crash right into the wallI better check under the hood and see what the damage is...Daddy just came home tonight and found these cool peddle bikes he can't wait for Kade to be able to ride. I guess they have little tractors with front loader buckets and everything.
I'll just die the day he asks for the car keys!!!
He now prefers to close doors and then cry when he is locked in, also he likes to play with the door stoppers that boing back and forth behind the dooor. He likes to disassemble humidifiers and slam toys on my tables. This is replacing "playing with toys".~Sigh!

Presents!

This is the first present that Kade opened by HIMSELF! Very exciting stuff I tell ya...
Kade's best friend Isaac got Kade a Halloween present and I let him go to town on it and find out what goodies lurked in his gift bag... (plus I started tinkering with my camera so we got some dark and light pics..sorry)
Maaa! What is this you threw in my lap? Do I stick my leg in it? It is sure a fun bag! No?? Ok, Do I chew this yarn stuff? MMMM!No??? OK, Let me grab what is in here once...A book?? Yay, Just what I wanted :-)

Thanks Isaac!

I have a toddler stuck to my leg!

We are nearing 10 months this Sunday and my little baby has now become a new accessory on my leg :-) He sure is cute and a great workout but makes it hard to get anything done around the house. I think he has a magnet in his onesie that becomes activated if I'm more than 4 feet from him. And all those experienced mommas out there can remember the "uuuhhh, uuuhh" that NEVER stops until you pick up the little rascal!! That is really the most effective form of communication to get what you want, I will try it at work for a raise and see if I can get what I want as quick as Kade does-ha!

On the rare occassions he will play by himself I have to be careful not to cross his path and "be spotted". Here is an example of what happens. I'm like a helpless animal being hunted down by a cheeta-Gulp~

Here is his new toy of choice, he likes driving around his high chair on the hardwood floors, gives momma a heart attack. He likes to stand and grab the foot piece and he is going to take one wild face plant one of these days!

Uh oh, I've been spotted!

Radio Flyer Wagon

Daddy went to Fleet Farm w/Kade while I was doing some homework over the weekend. We actually made a second trip back as daddy found this wagon. Kade loves riding in it and we went for a family walk tonight down our gravel road. He is dressed up in dad's favorite outfit!

It is amazing to me to see him sitting up like a big boy and going for a wagon ride. It seems just like yesterday that he was rolling over!

Happy Halloween!

Kade's 1st Halloween was spooktacular-ha! He had lots of fun as he dressed up as a lion. He had fun at daycare, he got dressed up there and they took the kids around to other classrooms in a big stroller. At first he cried but he soon forgot that he was dressed up and then had a blast. Here he is to say "Boo" to everyone!
Later that night, we took Kade to the mall and strolled him around to see all the kids dressed up. He was his typical "concerned" self but didn't take him too long to warm up and take part as "Kade the scary Lion".
Um, you want me to wear "this" in public??

No thanks! I will arch my back in defiance...I want out of this deal.

Oh geez, it gets worse...I have a tail too?

How am I gonna get the ladies looking like this? Fine! I'll crawl around and scare people
...RRRAaaahhhRR!
Are we done yet?
We took these pictures in Eddie Bauer while daddy was trying on jeans. Kade was getting a little restless, so I let him get out and crawl around the dressing room. Kade LOVED watching all the other kids dressed up at the mall. By about 7:30 he fell asleep for the night and so we all went out to Ground Round for supper, while Kade slept in his car seat. It was a great Halloween!

I'm back to blog land!

I know it has been a while since the last update on Mr. Destructo (his new nick name that suits him PERFECT)! He has been a very busy boy these last couple weeks and I can't even keep up with daily changes. I just take things slowly and savor every minute that I have with him.

First I need to update everyone (whom I'm sure know already), but Kade's best friend Isaac William Mosbrucker arrived a couple weeks ago on Tuesday October 14th! What a cutie pie and now I'm soooo jealous that my little baby is all grown up (compared to Isaac anyways). Here is a picture of us with him. As you can tell by Kade's reaction, he is not too excited to share attention with a new born. He has competition now!!

The week before last our whole family had the stomach flu! Poor Kade didn't eat much of anything for almost a week...scared the beejeezus out of me! But THEN we had to take a 4 hour trip one way over the weekend. It was very interesting to say the least. We actually ventured out with the flu bug to attend Megan & Ryan's wedding in Beulah. It was soooo BEAUTIFUL, I'm so glad we got to make the trip. Kade did really well and we also spent some time with Grandpa Fischer, here they are together with his dog "Buster".
We also had professional pictures taken in the park, since within the last couple of weeks. These are shots Chad & I took afterwards, they turned out ok, but there is a reason we pay the professionals...that's for Sure!
