Hand, Mouth, & Foot Disease

I initially was going to title this post, Terrible Twos???? Kade has been just miserable the last couple of weeks and we couldn't figure out what the heck was going on with him. Daycare has sent him home almost every day with a fever of 100.7-100.9. By the time I get him he is cooled off again and I almost had to have some "words" with that daycare!
I took him to the Dr. last Friday and they sent me back home with him saying he must have had a bug or something. Good work Dr.!! Well worth my co-pay. So off we went and dealt with the following behavior...
Flailing bodies all over the floor...

Hitting and smacking!
Pure MELTDOWNS!!Then Monday comes along and he again has a fever of 100.7, Tuesday brings along 103 temp. So I truck him back off to that same Dr. Well upon a further examination (& another $25) turns out he has Hand, Mouth, & Foot disease. The poor guy has canker sores all over the back of his throat and he is in pure misery. After all of this, come to find out there is nothing we can do to make it better, just tylenol or motrin to control his fever. So maybe it wasn't the TERRIBLE TWOS but rather a horrible mouth rash. Goodness! Needless to say he got his Nuke back. Not the best time to be weaning him
***sorry about that Kade***
We are looking forward to a quick recovery, he doesn't sleep well at all and doesn't eat the best as you could imagine. We do lots of cuddles and the best we can to comfort him. Poor guy!

Pacifier Weaning~Calogone Take me away!

After the visit for Kade's 18 month appointment. We were pooed pooed from the Dr. that Kade still had his pacifier. So mommy and daddy decided to swipe the "nuuuuuukkke" away from our habit forming toddler.
"Um WHAT??? Nope, I don't like this idea...one bit!
When I got home the other day, he was whining like normal for "nuuuk, nuuuk, nuuuk...."ya literally he rants nuuuuk for hours until we give in. The nuuuk gets longer and drawn out the more we withhold his precious comfort habit.
Nuuuk, nuuuuuk, awww nuuuuuuuuukk!!!!
So here is where I found him, the little addict new where we kept his stash! Ma!!! They are right there..see!!
PLEEZE! There are like 20 of them in there, what gives???
We will keep you tuned in as to how this weaning process goes!
For now he is very tight lipped on the situation!

Kade Goes To the Zoo!

We took Kade out for his first trip to the zoo. Ya, I know we are a bit behind, but we made it none the less!
He wasn't too sure what to think of the animals, close up. He loves pointing them out in books. Some of his favorites or "hoeseez" (horsies), "mawkies" (monkies), and of course DUCKS!
**please Kade, DON'T pull the hoeseez hair**We went to see the wolves, but it was too hot outside so they were sleeping in their dens. Here is the place where you can sit inside and watch them through a window. No action on the growling beasts, but Kade liked the little old time cabin.***Kade, DON'T touch the bear trap, ouch!***Then mommy freaked because, "shouldn't these be INSIDE the cage?"***Kade, stay OUTSIDE of the cage!***So here is my little terror, CHASING the poor animals. He came around the backside of this feeding stand like a raging bull to get at this poor innocent bird...Still chasing and boy he's got some good form!
***We did not have any bird or toddler fatalities***We ended our trip with a ride on the carousel, turns out he doesn't like to ride the horses. He squealed and clamped his legs shut when I attempted to put him on one. So mommy and Kade rode the very exciting BENCH. Boooring-ha! We had a fun day, and learned to go when it is not so hot out...then the animals will actually be out. Kade is a huge animal lover and we look forward to many more trips to the zoo! (not sure the birds are looking forward to our visit though).

We are still here!!

Ok , so I'm running behind on the blogging ****SORRY****Now I don't have school but no reason to procrastinate either-ha!! We've really been having a blast lately and the summer is just wizzing by. I'm pretty upset as we had a great 4th of July and MBF tournament BUT do you think I'd remember to take lots of pics...UM NOPE!! Turns out my rambunctious little toddler keeps me running here and there; chasing him out of streets; pulling him out of 'no no areas' like toilets, stoves, anything of daddies, and basically anything at all--phew! So while I had a great time at the tournament, I didn't get to document our exciting journey.
This is "why" I am unable to take a half a moment break to snap a photo in a non baby proofed environment!

Then he turns all cute and innocent and I have to give him some lovin'!
Since I didn't capture any pictures of the summer events thus far, I went back down memory lane and found some good ones (some which have never made their way on the blog yet). First I had to post about Grandpa LeeRoy, we went to visit his farm at the end of June. Kade even fed the horse some brush (yep no picture either...grrr!) I of course needed to witness this event and followed ever so closely as not to get in the taller grass for fear I'd get a tick on me. Chad and Kade fearlessly trucked through the tallest blades of grass of them all and I tip toed through cautiously. Well by the end of the day, here comes a big 'ole tick crawling on MY pant leg, nobody else's--Sheesh! Ok, we will leave my near death experience alone now...enjoy pictures of Grandpa LeeRoy and Great Grandma Fischer when they visited us when Kade was just a few weeks old--Aaaaww!! The MBF tournament was fun this year! Devin and Amanda came also and brough Isaac too. Amanda, my mom, Kade and I were invited to Auntie Doris' for a brunch. It was SOOO Yummy. Again, NO PICTURES (banging head on wall). I did much running and grabbing and feeding, and anything but pictures. So I had to go and grab a couple from last year. Here is Aunt Doris and Shawn at the tournament in 2008. I will have to post more on "Doris" the duck. He somehow weasled his way out of Doris' with her sewing duck that he uses in the tub. Now he runs in at bathtime and squeales "Dowis" "Doowis"!!!! We had a great time with great food and as Kade would say "Tewkies"! YUM

4th of July, yet again another non picture event (Grandma Nancy may have some though). Grandma Nancy and Jim came up and we had a great 4th at our house. Uncle Shawn brought lots of fire works and blew them up in the back yard. Daddy decided he needed to wake Kade up around 10:00 to see the show. I don't think that was the best idea as he came outside all bewildered looking and then there were bright lights and loud blasts plus lots of skeeters!!! I hope we didn't mess the poor kid up for good-ha! Then Grandma and Jim spent that Saturday with him while Shawn, Jackie, Chad and I went to the lakes for the 4th and watched the firework show out on the lake. It was beautiful!!! Here is Kade & Daddy, July 4th, 2008!

Here are some random picks of my not so little boy...
Posing in the outfit Amanda & Devin brought back from their Mexico trip. My little soccer player! Thanks Auntie Amanda & Uncle Devo!
