Boating with Isaac!

Last weekend we went out boating with the Mossie's! Yes... it takes much courage to venture out with a 17 month and an 8 month old! But we are determined to take those 'lil buggers out on as many "adventures" as we can. That's ALOT of snacks, milk, sippies, bottles, bibs, spoons, puried fruits/cereals, blankets, toys, diapers, wipes, PACI's, clothes, and on and on and on....to drag with us. Boy do the guys get excited when the mom and kids come with-HA!
We do check periodically that they are still breathing and their life jackets haven't cut off their air-ha! Momma Mossie (Amanda) & Ike!Mommas and the Babies!
Chad & Kade
My "mobile" toddler who is too smart for his own britches! Where does he think he is going to take us??? Aaaaah!

First BOO BOO!

Well we've had our official first owie! Kade took off down the drive way and bit the dust. He had a big 'ole scrap on his knee. He actually didn't cry right away, but it didn't take long for it to start to burn and then he got all kinds of mad.
Exhibit A
Ooooohhh, I do not like my owie one BIT!! It makes me put on my angry face... Ouchie! That burns like a son of a gun... I tried to put a Spongebob Square Pants band-aid on him, but he would take it off, I'd reapply it, he'd take it off, I'd reapply, etc....In the end he threw it on the floor and it was BEDTIME!

Cookie Monster!

My mommy says I can have a cookie if I sit on the step like a good boy. Ok I think I can do that. Look how nicely I can even cross my legs...Oooooh, I'm so excited I had to get right up and run around as soon as I took a bite of my delicious cookie!Ok, fine...I promise THIS time I will sit like a good boy...Sheeeesh!Ooooh it is soooo delicious, I have to raise it in the air and show everyone. YUMMIE!!!What... I'm 17 months, I do not remember this agreement we made to sit still??? Um, can I have another cookie please? It is quite clear that I have birthed an identical clone of myself. He loves his sweets!!!

Sydney & Kade's DAY OF FUN!

Last week, Kade's cousin Sydney came over to play! Grandma Penny had come up and also brought Sydney to come and spend the night. Needless to say the two had a blast with Grandma. First Kade was spoiled with some toys he had gotten from Sydney... a sprinkler and drink cup. We can't wait to use the sprinkler. Thanks!!!

Um, is this a "thanks" by standing on the gift??
Sydney was so good with Kade, he LOVED when she would read to him! Here is where they dined, yep right in the wagon. Kade was a stinker and kept sneaking doritos off of Syd's plate!I tried to get a close up as he had orange doritos all over his face. He was a mess!CHEESE!Ya, we had some techincal difficulties...Kade to the rescue??They played forever with the bubbles, it was perfect weather for them too and they got to chase the bubbles all over the yard.Bubbly!!It was a great day, thanks for coming to visit Sydney!!!

First Haircut!

Oh be still my heart!!! My little boy just got his first haircut (and needed one badly at that)!!! We took him to a place called Whipper Snippers that caters to small children. We bought the first haircut package and got a picture of him (sad to say not a smiling one!), a lock of his first hair, and a T-shirt. Well it went better than I anticipated as he actually let someone cut his hair but he was SO upset. I had to hold his little hand and he cried huge tears as if someone just hurt his feelings. Awwww, it was pretty tough. Silly me, never thought to have him sit in my lap, we just threw the poor boy into the chair and once the cape came on...all heck broke loose!

Notice the big rooster tail hanging on the back of his head...yes it is TIME for a trim...

Ugggh, rip my heart out little buddy!!! He felt so abandoned, I almost just took him back but she had just made a couple clips...

Here he looks like he was ready to get out himself...Ok, lets not feel too bad for him...he got to watch ELMO, I know what a tough life!!! Hmmmm, I kind of like this Elmo character!
Finished product, but he will not admit he likes it!! He plays a good victim but once we got home, he strutted his stuff and showed off his new "do"!
Mother...I'm just too cool to talk with you right now...
What??? Bedtime? But MOM!!!!

Adventures of Kade & Chipper

Kade is now having a lot of fun with his horse "Chipper". Aunt Doris made Chipper especially for Kade and gave him to me for my baby shower. Chipper was actually one of Great Grandpa Flemmer's favorite horses. Good ole' Chipper has sat quietly in the corner waiting for Kade to get old enough to let him out and go for a ride!
OK Chipper, It's you & me now...we've waited 17 long months, let's see what you're made of!

Well you check out pretty good, nice sturdy wooden neck and a plush velvety mane. The red bridal is just right. I think we are ready for our first ride.
Daddee...I have some news, I'm a big boy now and Chipper and I have some riding to do. I'll come back some day. It's just something a boy has gotta do! Buddda dah duh bud a duh bud dah dah da da.. Giddee Up Chipper!!!
Well, they made it around the living room anyways, come to find out Kade needed some "mook" (milk) before they headed over the sunset. Kade is now giving Chipper kisses and likes when mommy/daddy ride chipper...UM NO there are no pics to post on that one-ha!
Thanks Auntie Doris!!!

17 Months!

Kade turned 17 months this Tuesday! He is reaching so many milestones and things are really starting to get interesting. We are finding out his little personality and he is actually a pretty cool dude. Every now and then we get some melt downs but nothing we haven't been able to handle.

As you notice below, he is walking and running just fine and now is reaching up and into things he knows he shouldn't be in. Here he is with his "evil" eye, trying to test mommy's limits with the "pretties" in the house (which by the way are limited to an empty coffee table).
He goes up and down the stairs really well. I still keep the gate shut when he is roaming free as he has an occassional nose diving incident. He still tries to break free and his new favorite game is to throw all his toys down the stairs. One day he took all his magnets off the fridge and plunked them down the stairs one by one.
He eats a little better nowadays, but still will take a "tookie" over anything. He's got momma's sweet tooth!!!! Some of the food he will eat: bananas, broccoli, beans, peas, cheese (teez), bread, any fruit, some meats depending on his mood, eggs, waffles, and maybe a few others I'm forgetting. Mostly he puts new foods in his mouth and spits them out right away and says "Awckie".Here is my future librarian...he LOVES to read and can actually point out a few words! Uncle Shawn has given him a "My baby can read" system and the kid is addicted! His vocabulary has really advanced as we practice lots of words most days. His favorites are baby, momma, daddee, duck, dog, ball, bear, book, tookie (cookie), shoes, eyes, bus, and block. He can say many words already and daycare has commented on how advanced he is! Thanks Uncle Shawn!
He is now starting to get a little imagination and plays really well! His favorite things to do are take blocks in and out of a bucket or anything like that. He also gives kisses to his stuffed animals and even puts them away when it is night night time. YES...I've won the lottery! BUT then he turns around and says "no" and takes them back...well I can dream can't I???
He likes to pretend he's on the phone...Oh it must be Grandma or Grandpa!!! (He's actually holding a little purple phone)
Kade's even been to the Okeson farm! Here is daddy and Kade looking at the cows...

PU...Stinky!!! (His little nose is all scrunched up!)
