I HATE my camera

Just a vent that I hate how Kade's pictures are turning out. They are so dark and I can't figure out how to use my worthless piece of dirt camera. Sorry for the dark pictures, I think Chad & I need to figure something else out and go buy a new one.
Check out where Kade will be getting his 9 month pictures~can't wait!!!!

A totally new baby!

Well we have a new baby at the Fischer's. Nooo, we're not expecting...Kade is doing so many new things that I don't know what he did with my old Kade. All within the last three days, he has accomplished the following:
  • Claps his hands and loves to play patty cake
  • Crawls around the house from room to room
  • Stands up on furniture or anything (like my leg) and tries to walk
  • He fake laughs to get attention and will copy you if you do it. He will just even sit by himself and go Ha ha ha ha...like he is the funniest person he's ever met.

Mommy is really suffering as she has SOO much homework to do and missing out on all his new accomplishments--ggrrr! Anyways (I'll stop my complaining for the moment) we have some funny stories about the weekend as we learned of his new "Big Boy" ways.

DADDY HAD A HEART ATTACK~Chad went to check on Kade Saturday night in his crib. Normally we just have to give him a pacifier or get him out of some weird sleeping position when he is fussing. Well here Chad walks in and Kade is STANDING in his crib (with only the light of the hallway to see him). There might as well have been a killer in there, his poor heart stopped as he couldn't process what he was seeing. All he new is something was standing in the crib and Kade doesn't stand in the crib, so WHO is it?? We all had a good laugh at that one.

ATTEMPTED MURDER~We were sleeping in on Saturday and we threw Kade in the bed w/us for a while. Chad was trying to sleep and Kade crawls up by daddy's face and plugs his nose and covers his mouth. Chad jumps up and yells "He tried to kill me". Again mommy had a good 'ole laugh.

We are now finding out what life is like with a mobile child. He climbs up and grabs anything/everything he is not suppose to. He has (now had) a cow humidifier in his room and I came in to find it disassembled into 3 pieces. He has climbed on the scale and weighed himself (20.8lbs). He is attracted to anything that will tip over and has all kinds of goodies to fall on his head. He has snagged the remote more than once.

I of course am becoming fearful of his life as he has already banged his head on our glass coffee table downstairs. It was WAY past Kade's bedtime and he wouldn't sleep because he had to practice climbing... so I let him go downstairs and watch TV w/us. I was the one sitting by him while he climbed up and then down and then up and then down on the table. Then on one of his landings his head caught the side and I screamed at Chad (like somehow it was his fault). Well yes it was, you can't just watch TV anymore without having one eyeball fixed on this creepy crawly baby.

We bought Kade his first Tonka toy truck (not the one pictured, just a little push toy) and no matter what, he knocks it upside down so he can spin the wheels.

He also is getting use to his walker, his JEEP (pictured). Right now he doesn't get that he can walk in it. He just stands still and plays with the steering wheel. O'well

Fight...Fight!!

Kade has a new friend"Penguin" It is one of those toys that when you hit it, it will pop right back up again. It is hilarious to watch Kade beat it up.

Hey there is not room in this house for me and YOU!
Take that you oversized birdie!!Ohh..I'm gonna cover your eyes and do a SNEAK attack! Now you just get out of here before my daddy cooks you for supper!

8 Months!!

Wow is time FLYING! Kade is growing by leaps and bounds and we are loving every minute of it.

Grandma Penny went to Alaska recently and brought back Kade this hat and onesie. The shirt says "bear naked" on it..too cute! Here he is posing so nicely for the camera. Kade is getting TWO front bottom teeth. If you look closely at him you can see a drop of drool hanging from his chin. Yep, he is a drooler when teething. Other than that though he has been a champ through the whole thing. He also has started crawling and trying to climb up on things.

As of today, Kade is at the following milestones:

  • 2 bottom teeth coming in!
  • can crawl a little bit, he likes to try and climb things he shouldn't-yikes!
  • still doesn't hold his bottle by himself
  • eats more solids such as pieces of cheese and toast, he will grab them by himself and put it in his mouth
  • we thought he outgrew his spitting phase, but has picked it up again this weekend
  • he loves to entertain us and is really getting into tickle games!

I can't wait until October 18th, we will be getting his pictures taken again. I know we should wait until his 1 year B-day...but I want cute crawly pictures before he is up and running around. I tried for 6 months but I couldn't get in anywhere and he wasn't really sitting up and moving around too much. We are having them done outside at a park and we should get some really good ones with the fall leaves. So he will get 8 (actually 9 month) pictures and we will have them done again at 1 year.

Reflection~O where did my baby go??

As I get all emotional about seeing my baby grow up, I had to go find some picture of the past and remember back to when he was itsy bitsy...

Ok, I'm better now!

What a Big Boy!

I hate to admit it, but this is the last "toothless" smile you will see of my big boy! He is popping out a tooth (oops almost typed out pooping~ha!) the lower left hand one. Now I'm all excited and everything but I've never seen a more snotty, sloppy, mess of a baby then when he is teething, holy smokes! On Thursday I put him down to play with some toys while I finished getting ready in the morning. I came to pick him up and thought I saw the exorcist! He was all pointed towards the wall, with his back towards me, and as I got close he turned towards me real quick in a scary haunted movie sort of way, with a big string of snot hanging from his nose, he had spit up and wiped it all over his face and hair, and to top it off he had pooped his pants. Geez! He looked like a big 'ole bull and smelled like one too. So I had to clean him all up and change his pants before leaving for work. Aaaaack!!!
Kade also gets bath in the bath tub. Now that Chad is giving lots of baths at night, he brought it to my attention that a 7-1/2 month old probably doesn't need the infant tub anymore.
Whoooops! How am I to know when a 25 lb baby doesn't fit in it anymore?? Come to think of it there wasn't much water to work with anymore and he can practically crawl out of it and drag the dumb thing around. I'm almost embarrassed to say I did that. Chad gave him his first "big boy bath" while I was in school, I guess he watched the water come out of the faucet in amazement. He thought the water would be like hitting the ground and when his hand went through it he just starred at it under the water. He played toys and splashed around. Maybe its good we split up some of our normal duties, so I don't keep him in the infant tub until he is 3!!!!
Kade is sooo close to crawling but will creep backwards or does this weird thing...he gets on his hands and knees and then goes into a downwards dog pose with his but up in the air and on his tippy toes. Don't know why, he just does it. O'well keeps me from chasing him around for a bit longer. He just likes to tease me with the possibility that he might try this huge milestone.

We've once again replaced his wardrobe and he wears 18-24 months. Huh? He's not even 8 months yet??? He loves to eat and has been eating puff cereals and today he tried some toast and cheese. Mommy holds her breath with every bite waiting to do some back blows if needed! I come to find out he eats Kix cereal at daycare...blew me away. He is just getting to be quite the little man.

Week 34

Well we are to week 34 already and Kade is headed for 8 months next Tuesday! We are going through some big changes in the Fischer household so I thought I'd update everyone.
I accepted a new position as a Financial Analyst for a company called Ygomi LLC. It is a great opportunity to advance in my career BUT I will need to dedicate more than a typical 40 hours/week to the position. This wouldn't be so bad but I also started back at school to finish my MBA. So that means I won't be home until 9:30 on Wednesday and Thursday nights, plus I will have homework each week.
Now I know why everyone puts it off and says they will go back "some day". I only have 4 more classes to attend and if I hit it aggressively (2 classes/semester), I will be done this May. Literally 9 months and I can put this school stuff behind me. I know this job change is coming at a bad time, but I hate to miss an opportunity that will be beneficial to us in the long run.
For now I cherish every feeding, every diaper change (yes even those-ha!), every bath, and give him lots of kisses and tickles. Daddy does so good with him that I don't even have to worry that he is being spoiled rotten. It will be a lot of hard work, but we will get through it as we do everytime.

Friday night, Kade decided to be a little poser and made up for some lost time w/mommy:
Pssst...I see you have the camera, C'mere

Here is a little pose for the blog...

Looks like I'll be crawling ANYDAY!! Varrooom!

We picked up some new toys this weekend and he tried out a nice noisy one. I have to apologize as my camera takes horrible pictures and they turn out so dark. He takes these toys way to serious and has to analyze each and every section of it...HHHmmm wonder where he gets that from??
