Mom, Dad, Me, & One More....Makes 4!: 1st Bday Party!

Well January 16, 2009 marks Kade's 1st B-day! We had a party at our house the Friday night of his B-day. We had a "CARS" the movie theme. Chad always calls Kade...Kader Tomater, and the tow truck on this cartoon is named "Tow-Mater". So we thought it fit pretty good for our "Mater".

Kade's 1st Bday cake-was actually made of all cupcakes!

Grandma Nancy and Jim came ALL the way from Beulah Friday night even though they had to leave Saturday morning. It really meant a lot to us that they could make this special occassion.

Daycare actually made him that birthday crown and gave him a 1st Bday balloon. They even had a special treat and all the babies were in a cirlce eating whipped cream with sprinkles when I got there to pick him up.

Uncle Shawn (now also the "Godfather") came from Grand Forks to help celebrate too! Kade loves to wrestle around with Shawn and they make pretty good "buds"!

Also Kade had a couple of friends over! Isaac came with his mommy and daddy, Amanda & Devin and Sarah and Justin Okeson brought Kale over to get in on the fun! I tried to get a picture of all three boys. Ummmm, that is harder than one would suspect~This was our best shot of the little hooligans--ggrr!

Isaac was too little, but the other two had a blast playing in Kade's ball pit. It is an oversized blow up dog with a pile of colored balls to play in(I really tried to use caution when typing that sentence!) When we were buying it, I yelled "here is the big dog with the balls" in Toys R Us.

Kade also got to open presents and got a bunch of cool stuff. Thank goodness Kale was there to help. Kade is not so much of a expert in the unwrapping department, but Kale was an awesome helper!

Aaaw! They each had a push toy and were "crusing" around.

Kade also got some birthday money from Aunt Doris and had to make his "investment in the bank". He took more of a karate style approach making his deposit. It seemed that he was having second thoughts and may have wanted to spend it. I can only guess how much money is in that thing! He has made many deposits from his gifts, so he is being smart and sacking it away...especially during this economy :-)
