Uncle Shawn at Christmas

Hi all! This is Kade, my mommy says that now that I'm almost 1 year old...I need to start blogging about my own adventures (she says her fingers are sore!). Well there is a lot more to come for Christmas but my mom needs to archive some pictures and get them off the puter because it is tooo slow! It took at least 30 minutes to just view each of the Xmas pictures. I begged her to let me do at least one before I went to bed. (Yes begging works on my mommy, she is very weak I'm finding out, all it takes is a flip of my lower lip and SUCCESS!)
One of my favorite parts of Christmas is when Uncle Shawn came to visit. I snuck an ornament off the tree that looked just like a yummy piece of red candy! Hmmm, I'm just starting the ability to think of how to trick people. For now I will bang this on the glass table and see how long it takes someone to run over here.
Ooooh, I have a victim. Ha ha...I will trick him into thinking this is really a piece of yummy candy. This is my first evil plan...I love developing my personality!

Go ahead...don't be shy. They are my FAVORITES (wink wink)

He fell for it! It was just a trick Uncle Shawn...but I still LOVE you!!! Merry Xmas and stay tuned for more of my stories. I'm gonna go get my blankie and bottle and go night night for now.

First Christmas!

Christmas is special in our family for many reasons. The most import reason now is because it was Kade's Grandpa Melvin's FAVORITE time of the year. This is when Mel would shine the most and loved to have Christmas music playing, the biggest tree with lots of decorations and LOTS of presents under the tree. Chocolate covered cherries were his favorite treat while we decorated. He enjoyed watching the kids rip open the presents and get excited about their new treasures. My goal is to keep this excitement going and make Xmas the biggest deal ever!

Now I know Kade is little yet and won't remember this day and time anymore then he would the days where we sit around at home and he spits up on me all day :-) BUT this will be a special Christmas as its Kade's FIRST and I have went out and bought his First stocking and first ornament and LOTS of toys for under the tree. We are actually more excited about the presents because he is needing some new entertainment around here, so when he rips open that paper it will be a genuine smile on my face (now he will have some time away from hanging on my leg! )Here are some pics and we will get some more with Kade and his Christmas a bit later.

Kade's first ornament had a place to put a picture. We went and got his picture taken w/Santa at the mall and then put that in it. Thought it would be pretty neat so we could see what he looked like his first Christmas too.

Here is his first stocking (not sure what to stuff it with yet).

Now we had to decide when to open gifts. Typically when I was little, we would open all our presents on Xmas eve. Santa would visit while we were in church (funny how mom forgot something right as we were all in the car ready to leave!). Chad on the other hand opened all his presents BUT Santa's gift Xmas eve and then Santa came during the night. I guess we decided he will open Santa's gift Xmas day and the rest Xmas Eve. (Tough decisions I tell ya!)

Done with the Semester!

I can't wait to blog away now that I've finished the semster. One more to go and we will be done with this "crap" by May! In the meantime I've found my new favorite webiste at picnik.com. I've been able to take some of our old pictures that didn't turn out (way to dark to even see them) and bring them back to life!
This one is priceless as we didn't think to take pictures of Kade in the hospital and the few we did, I thought weren't even useable since they were soooo dark. Well this one is of Kade and daddy when he was just a day or two old. Thank you Picnik!!

We are getting ready for company. My mom and Jim will be coming as well as Chad's mom and Russ. My brother is coming down from Grand Forks and we are preparing a turkey. Should be interesting as we are not the turkey making types-ha!

Kade is WALKING, yep he takes as many as 5-6 steps at a time. I have a lot more blogging to do and not much time right now. Lots to do to prepare for Christmas and we are so EXCITED! We just talk everynight about how blessed we are to have Kade with us (and that he is well behaved-ha!) I love putting him night night after his bath, he just sticks his little butt up in the air as the snow blows outside. He stays so warm and snuggly. I know I'm rambling so I'll say "Bye" for now!!
