Happy 2nd Birthday~Kade!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DEAR KAAAADDDDDE! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TOOOOO YOUUUUU!!!!
Ooops, just 6 months overdue for this post.  Here is the a recap of Kade's 2nd birthday.  We took a little mini vacation and stayed at the Holiday Inn (so nope this is not my carpet at home~ha!)
Kade had a blast and got to spend time swimming with Sydney and Isaac.  There was a pirate's ship that he got to play on.  The one thing this kid loves is WATER!  So this was pretty excititng for him.  I forsee many hotel outings for Kade's birthday as there isn't a whole lot of options in January!
It is fun to see Kade get more excited for presents as he gets older.  This year he was definetly into ripping apart the gifts and wondering what the heck was inside.
And last but not least, Kade has a sweet tooth comparable to his momma, Grandpa Melvin and Great Grandpa Bernhardt!!!  So bring on the cake, because he was all over that.
I can't believe he is now 2-1/2.  At least I posted before his 3rd birthday.  Kade had a blast and it was a fun time.  Thanks to everyone for all the gifts!

What the heck...

I can't figure out why my main picture turns out MONSTEROUS...yes I know Kade has grown into a big boy, but he is not that big!
Looks like I've got more research to do to make my blog look normal. What the heck???

Sorry for the Delay!!!

Alright, alright!! After much needed feedback from some of my "followers", I've finally got the ambition to update my blog. WOW, am I behind. I think I blogged myself out but I will try and get back on track again. I will be taking you all the way back into the depths of winter, back in January.
BBbrrrrr!! Are you sure you want me to go back?? Uh, where is this kid's hat?
BAD MOMMY!

He was only out for a quick second, but you can tell the whole "first mommy" thing is going out the window. Months before I would have had him wrapped in cellophane as not to get cold. Now it's "Eh, if he gets cold enough, he'll come in". Ok its not that bad, but I've learned to let go of some of the small stuff, somedays anyways ;-) Ooops, no gloves either...
Kade has survived and blossomed into a very well rounded 2 year old! Here he is...freshly turned 2 and he is quite the character. Here he is feeding his sock monkey some "lunch".

Kade takes his play time very seriously. He doesn't just put the pretend food out on the table for sock monkey, he literally cooks, serves, and cleans up the dishes.
Cooking some eggs on the fry pan...
Checking on what is in the oven...
I'll get into his 2nd Birthday party on my next blog. He wanted an "alligator" for his birthday. We took him to the toy store and this is what he ended up picking out.
Uggh, is all I gotta say about that!

There is a positive to this ugly creature, it has worked out good for getting him to brush his teeth. He would take the alligator in and brush alligators teeth first. Yay, one more blog down and 50 more to go!

Happy Holidays 2010!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We had a wonderful holiday season and were very blessed to have a houseful of family to help us celebrate. Kade loves opening presents and enjoyed all the fun parts of Christmas. Tearing off wrapping paper, Christmas lights, and singing Jingle Bells were amongst his favorites. (We are still hearing Jingle Bells, make that the Jingle bell ROCK version today in February-uugh!)
Kade got to celebrate Christmas with so many people! We missed out on seeing Grandpa Lee Roy and Denise at the farm. Kade was excited though to spend time with his cousins Jordan and Sydney and their puppy "Izzie".
We had a full house! Aunt Terri, Grandma Penny and Russ from Montana came, as well as Grandma Nancy and Jim from Bismarck, and Uncle Shawn and Jackie from Grand Forks. We had some bad weather which caused everyone to come early and get a later start home than anticipated. It was a good time and there was a lot of laughs to catch up on...
Most of the time was spent watching Kade show off his present opening skills...
Ooof Da, those bags are heavy!
Kade and his "stocking"

He doesn't look too happy to see Syd opening her present, ha! Here is Terri and Chad, having some brother and sister time out on the sled!
Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful gifts and warm Christmas greetings! We are so blessed to have wonderful friends and family. A happy 2010 to all!!

Montage

I created a montage of kade's 12-23 months. Just remember to go below and mute the music player, or you'll get two songs at once....also a reminder there is a montage of his first year way at the bottom.

The "Grinch" who stole Christmas

Um, yep...that Grinch would be the infamous Kade Melvin Fischer. Well here is how our Christmas 2009 started out. We put up the tree and I implemented my "gated community" strategy. I gated that thing up tighter than Fort Knox.
Everything was set and I starred into Kade's eyes with the look of...Gotcha ya! I dare you to try and pick ornaments off, swallow those hooks, break those bulbs, sneak into those presents...nope none of that is gonna happen. Mwaaa ha ha ha ha!!!! I've now had almost 2 years experience as a mommy, go ahead and test me!!!
As you can see, a little toddler can still appreciate the excitement of the beauty of the Christmas tree with "no touching" involved. Kade was smittin' with that glorious creation of mine from the first minute he laid eyes on it.
Lots of pointing to his favorite ornaments...
Oooing, and Aawwing...

He REALLY loves Christmas Trees!!
So, as I am an extra careful, and not trusting as far as I can throw ya...type of mom. I left him down to play with his toys, while I did some cleaning... and checked in on him literally, every 2 minutes. Wow, he just played with his toy train and didn't once go bother the tree. Success! This is awesome, or so I thought.
Well later that day, I happened to notice his book box downstairs, was empty. Hmmm, that's weird, where did all his books go? I look over at the tree and see my excercise ball along with ALL his books INSIDE my gating system. What the heck?????
My little Christmas Grinch had whipped all his books at the tree (along with my poor innocent workout ball). He did this in between me "checking on him"...which I am a freak about and probably do it too often. (Gonna have to increase timing on those checks now!)
So here is Kade getting reprimanded and asking "What did YOU do????"
Daddy was really mad, but I told him just to take pictures of it and then we laughed in the end.
Check out all the BROKEN bulbs, amongst his books!!!!

Well, I'll get more Xmas blogging done later...we really had a great time. Also, I'll have to do blogging on Kade's 2nd Birthday!!!! He is quite the character nowdays (ok more quite the whiner) so hoping this phase ends SOON.
