Halloween and Xmas decorating

In the season of the holidays, here is Halloween and Xmas decorating all at once.

Kade the cow and Isaac the dinosaur

My sugar addict, reaping the rewards of his hard work
Kade did really well decorating the tree this year.  He took it really serious and didn't even stick a nasty x-mas ornament hook through his fingers. Yay!

So serious!  He found the perfect spot for each ornament
Kade is VERY excited for Xmas.  He's already sat on Santa's lap and put his first request in for a Blue Donkey.  Ok whatever...????

The "not so fun" side of parenting

These are a few of my "not" so favorite thing of parenting:

Fevers...
 And Potty Training!

Yes, I have an almost 3 year old, who is NOT potty trained yet.  Really....this is time consuming stuff.  Kade is getting more excited about it.  Loves the underwear, so I think we are making progress.  Daycare reports that they are ready to take him in underwear as he is telling them when he has to go, and then he actually does.  Not so much at home though, yet.  Still a work in progress, but I'm confident I will not be sending him off to college in diapers.

Kade's going to be a BIG BROTHER!

Kade is showing off his new "BIG BROTHER" shirt!  Yes, Kade is expecting his new brother/sister on May 17, 2011.

Misc Hodge Podge

So I find myself here on a Saturday night, with A LOT of pictures to post.  No ryhme or reason...just life with an almost 3 year old.
We can start out with the joys of PARADES!  Amanda and I took Kade and Isaac to the NDSU parade, I'm guessing it was back in Sept/Oct.  The kids really liked it.
Here is Kade, "listening" for the sirens of the police cars that were starting the parade...
Guessing he is liking the parade...
Awww!  Soo cute
Kade is also taking a liking to his dog Hunter.  They've become pretty good buds.  Not to say Kade is always the "gentlest" with Hunter, but they are doing pretty well together.

Again no ryhme or reason......

Making up for some time

I came across some old pics that should have been "reported" on the blog.  First we need to talk about Potty Training!  Kade is not too much about it.  Here is some pics of him putting his monkey in a diaper.  We are trying to work on getting Kade to go in the potty but he isn't too interested.  He has had success a few times.  Who didn't tell me how time consuming this "kid" thing is~Ha!
He HAS to be trained by January as he will already be a PRESCHOOLER when he turns 3!  Wow, how impressive Kade...we're proud of ya!  Now go potty already ;-)

I wouldn't get my nose too close there, buddy!

So Serious!  Looks like he did a good job :-)
Ok, let's now discuss the many "moods" an almost 3 year old can go through...
I'm Sad mom...

Nevermind, I'm happy!

Poo Poo

Ooooh!  Cookies, I'm so EXCITED!
Kade had fun driving around in his "gator" this summer.  Hunter went along for the ride.  Um, I hope its a while before he wants his drivers license....

Speaking of "moods", I actually caught a toddler meltdown on camera.  He wasn't feeling well and all of a sudden, nothing would do and I had an out of control ticking timebomb on my hands...
Starting the whining process....mom knows something ain't right...

Uggh, the lower lip..definetly a sign good things are not about to happen

And here we go...mom nice to keep taking pics

Poor kiddo, we had a rough rest of that afternoon
Then he gets over it and is my outstanding young man!  He is growing up so fast.  He is pretty low maintenance, but can turn on an ear deafening whining screech like nobody else...OUCH!
Oh, and we've been done with his crib for a while.  Now he has a "Big Boy" bed.  If he tries to get out, I tell him I'm going to put the crib back up and then he jumps back in.  I don't like to use the word "lying" but I have to tell him some "alternative truths" some days ;-)

Pumpkin Patch

We got to go to the pumpkin patch today.  Now I have a bit of inspiration to get the blog updated a bit (or at least with today's adventures).  Here is my little pumkin picker outer.  He liked to go through and check out their selection.

Gotta love that plumbers crack!
He loved crawling around on the haybales.  At first he was a bit weirded out as there were so many people around.  But when it came to crawling on the bales...the smiles finally came out.  When we left this part, Kade said.  "I loved being on the farm!"

Then came the petting zoo.  He loved that part too.  I wasn't too excited that the kids were encouranged to put their fingers in with the chickens...ouch!

What up with these ducks' hair do's????

Like little toupees!
Then came the PUMPKIN COOKIE DECORATING!  Hmm, they didn't look much like pumpkins to me, but ok!  He got a cookie with icing and M&M's and reece's pieces.  He took this VERY SERIOUSLY!

Taste Testing

Mmmmm!  Made it just right

Yeah Kade, using the napkin...lots of cookies still in his mouth though....

Before we left, we of course had to go down the slide.....

How much cuter can you get?

It was a beautiful day and Kade had a blast.  It is these types of experiences that you really enjoy having your children and watching the excitement in their eyes.  The last thing we felt like doing was standing in line with a bunch of kids, but it was well worth it.  We can't wait for many more fun times with Kade!
